SUMMARY:CCM Webinar (double session): Swinging up the Double Pendulum & Data driven COVID modeling
DESCRIPTION:Next Tuesday May 05th, there is a double webinar-session as part of the CCM – Chair of Computational Mathematics seminars:\n\n“Swinging up the Double Pendulum” by our team member Arnaud Rippol from the Ecole Polytechnique, Palaisea-France. Due to its chaotic nature, the double pendulum is a complex system to swing up and even more so to keep in balance. During this seminar, two approaches will be explored to solve this problem: one using Optimal Control theory, the other using Reinforcement Learning.\n\n \n\n“Data driven COVID modeling” by our invited speaker Cyprien Neverov from IMT Mines Ales, France. I this talk, I propose to take a look at some ways one could use data driven system identification for modeling the evolution of the number of COVID-19 cases in several countries. The current results as well as the advantages and limitations of this approach are discussed.\n\n
