SUMMARY:A non-controllability result for the half-heat equation on the whole line based on the prolate spheroidal wave functions and its application to the Grushin equation
DESCRIPTION:Speaker: Prof. Dr. Pierre Lissy\nAffiliation: Université Paris-Dauphine, France\nOrganized by: FAU CAA-AvH, Chair in Applied Analysis – Alexander von Humboldt Professorship at FAU Erlangen-Nürnberg (Germany)\nRequest Zoom meeting link\nAbstract. In this talk, after recalling some basic elements of linear control theory, I will explain how one can use some special functions, the Prolate Spheroidal Wave Functiosn (PSWF), that saturate some uncertainty principle, can be used to give non-controllability results for the half-heat equation on the real line, and for the Grushin equations on the plane.\n
