DESCRIPTION:The Vice-Rectorate for Research and International Relations, the Faculty of Engineering, the Deusto Chair of Computational Mathematics, and the Computational Mathematics Research Group at the University of Deusto (Bilbao, Spain) invite applications for a Postdoctoral Fellow position.\nLed by Principal Investigators Enrique Zuazua and Umberto Biccari ( https://cmc.deusto.eus/umberto-biccari/ ), the successful candidate will conduct high-quality, independent research aligned with the group’s scientific agenda, with a focus on advancing the mathematical foundations and industrial applications of Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence.\nDeadline: April 15, 2026 at 23:59 local time.\n \nKey Objectives\n\nPublish in high-impact journals (WoS / SJR).\nParticipate in competitive research projects (Basque Government, Spanish Government, Horizon Europe).\nContribute to the preparation and submission of research proposals.\n\n \nEligibility and Requirements\n\nPhD Degree: Candidates who completed their PhD in 2023 or later are especially encouraged to apply.\nExpertise: Control theory and/or Machine Learning.\nBackground: Experience in Partial Differential Equations (PDEs) and Numerical Analysis is highly valued.\nSkills: Strong computational skills (Python, MATLAB) and excellent command of English (written and spoken).\n\n \nOffer Details\n\nApplication Deadline: April 15, 2026\nStart Date: September 1, 2026\nDuration: 3 years\n\n \nEvaluation Criteria\nCandidates will be evaluated based on publication record, project experience, conference contributions, awards, outreach activities, and international research stays.
