The Chair for Dynamics, Control and Numerics – Alexander von Humboldt Professorship (FAU DCN-AvH) at Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg is looking for PhD students with an interest in areas involving or related to partial differential equations, numerical and data analysis, stochastic optimisation, control theory or scientific computing.

Time limit: 3 years
Starting at: Earliest possible

Profile

Candidates are expected to have proven their skills in interdisciplinary cooperation and become actively involved in the newly established FAU MoD, Researcher Center for Mathematics of Data.
-Research in PDE
-Numerical Analysis
-Control
-Machine Learning

Qualification

-Master on Mathematics or similar, Physics, Engineering, etc.
-Experience: Computational skills, reference/recommendation letters
-Interdisciplinary and collaborative work
Successful candidates is expected to demonstrate initial academic achievements and the capacity for independent research at the highest international standards.
