Postdoctoral Fellowship in Computational Mathematics
The Vice-Rectorate for Research and International Relations, the Faculty of Engineering, the Deusto Chair of Computational Mathematics, and the Computational Mathematics Research Group at the University of Deusto (Bilbao, Spain) invite applications for a Postdoctoral Fellow position.
Led by Principal Investigators Enrique Zuazua and Umberto Biccari, the successful candidate will conduct high-quality, independent research aligned with the group’s scientific agenda, with a focus on advancing the mathematical foundations and industrial applications of Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence.

Key Objectives
- Publish in high-impact journals (WoS / SJR).
- Participate in competitive research projects (Basque Government, Spanish Government, Horizon Europe).
- Contribute to the preparation and submission of research proposals.
Eligibility and Requirements
- PhD Degree: Candidates who completed their PhD in 2023 or later are especially encouraged to apply.
- Expertise: Control theory and/or Machine Learning.
- Background: Experience in Partial Differential Equations (PDEs) and Numerical Analysis is highly valued.
- Skills: Strong computational skills (Python, MATLAB) and excellent command of English (written and spoken).

Evaluation Criteria
Candidates will be evaluated based on publication record, project experience, conference contributions, awards, outreach activities, and international research stays. Compliance with the Marie Skłodowska-Curie mobility criteria (not having resided in Spain for more than 12 months in the three years prior to the deadline) will be considered positively.
