Abstract. Prescribed-time stabilization enables system states to reach a desired target within a user-specified time. In this report, I will present my past research work on the boundary control of PDE-ODE cascade systems. First, I will introduce a time-varying backstepping controller for the prescribed-time stabilization of a thermally actuated valve system modeled by a spring-mass-damper ODE coupled with a reaction-diffusion PDE. Second, I will present an output-feedback design for a general ODE-reaction-diffusion cascade subject to unknown disturbances, using dual observers and regularized scaling functions to achieve nonsingular practical prescribed-time stabilization. Finally, I will look ahead to my future research goals and briefly discuss my planned activities during my stay here.
