Abstract:

In this seminar, a new kind of numerical scheme is proposed to solve entropy solutions to scalar nonlinear hyperbolic PDEs. The related numerical scheme is based on the Moment/SOS hierarchy (also known as the Lasserre hierarchy). This hierarchy has been really powerful to solve globally nonlinear and nonconvex optimization problem. It has also been applied to control problems, such as optimal control for ODEs expressed with a polynomial vector field. Some numerical simulations are given in order to illustrate the efficiency of the related algorithm.
